Kompany keeps Man City on top ahead of Premier League’s final week

Manchester City are now 90 minutes from defending their Premier League title, following a battling 1-0 win over Leicester City in their last home fixture of the season.

Pep Guardiola’s men came into the game on Monday, knowing that anything but victory, will take their destiny away from their hands, after Liverpool defeated Newcastle on Saturday.

The first half ended goaless, before captain Vincent Kompany unleashed an unstoppable effort to seal all three points.

The result keeps Guardiola’s men top with 95 points, while Liverpool have 94.

City will now travel to Brighton for their final game of the season, while Liverpool welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers.
