APC removes giant broom at Abuja’s city gate

The broom constructed and mounted by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the city gate to Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, has been removed.

The broom which symbolises the party’s logo was erected at the entrance to the Federal Capital City gate, while another was also erected at the Unity Fountain in Maitama, a few weeks to the presidential election.

A resident, Abdul Sabo, said he was not surprised by the development, “as the broom had done its job.”

Kikelomo Kayode, a Lokogoma resident, said she saw welders and technicians dismantling the broom at the Unity Fountain at about 4pm when she was leaving Millennium Park.

The coordinator Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Umar Shuaibu, had said the APC, FCT chapter, got approval for the broom to be mounted.
