Why APC May Lose Power in 2019 - Prof. Sagay

Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), has instructed the initiative regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC) to respect the requests of state governors of the party to lead aberrant primaries in their states ahead of the 2019 elections.

As per him, the APC may lose power in 2019 if the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole's disagreements with the governors from the party are not settled.

The governors, who are agreeable to voting by delegates, are allegedly ruining for war with the national administration of the gathering through their different state executives.

The governors need states to practice their entitlement to direct circuitous primaries in picking the party's possibility for the 2019 general races against the situation of the party administration as expressed by the party's Acting Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena.

The party's authority has coordinated that all competitors be picked through direct primaries.

In a meeting with newsmen, Sagay, who is as of now in the United States, said the party couldn't bear to go to war with the state governors who are basic partners in the gathering, with only couple of weeks to the general elections.

Sagay said the APC administration couldn't stand to lose the race to the resistance Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and exhorted the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to tune in to the governors' requests by tolerating roundabout primaries in the determination of competitors.

"I will encourage the party to think about the results. For this situation, I will encourage the gathering to assent to their requests for aberrant primaries as opposed to coordinate primaries.

"We should be practical on this issue and, likewise, they need to think about what's to come. On the off chance that they do anything now and conflict with the legislature or the gathering, it won't look good by any stretch of the imagination. In this way, we must be down to business about these things.

"In the event that there is such a danger and they are probably going to complete it, I will encourage the party to acknowledge backhanded primaries instead of direct primaries.

"The race is around the bend. In the event that they don't tune in to the governors' requests, the results are that the party may lose power.

"On the off chance that we stick to standards and you lose control, you are out of intensity and all the indiscipline and mis-administration we encountered under the PDP will come and frequent us. In this way, I trust the gathering should yield to them," Sagay said.
