President Buhari Departs For China Today

President Muhammadu Buhari will depart for China today to participate in the seventh Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) booked to hold September 3 - 4, 2018 in Beijing.

The president's first commitment in Beijing, as indicated by an announcement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, will be an intelligent session with the Nigerian Community in China at the Nigerian Embassy.

Before the formal opening of the FOCAC Summit, Buhari, as present Chair of ECOWAS, is required to convey comments at the High-Level Dialog amongst Chinese and African pioneers, business agents and African business visionaries.

The Nigerian president is planned to join President Jinping and other African pioneers for the opening and roundtable sessions of the 2018 FOCAC Beijing Summit under the topic: "Towards a significantly Stronger China-Africa Community with a common Future."

After the FOCAC Summit, President Buhari will hold respective meetings with President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang to talk about framework financing for key ventures in Nigeria and the redesigning of Nigeria-China relations.

The president will likewise evaluate the advancement made so far in Chinese intercessions in Nigeria's key need framework ventures, especially on-going activities in the railroad and power sectors.
