Police Capture 8 Suspects Over Kidnappings, Armed Robbery Along Abuja, Kaduna, Kano Roadways

The Nigeria Police Force has captured eight suspects regarding the ongoing kidnappings and armed robbery along the Kaduna, Abuja and Kano roadways.

The suspects are: Lawal Tukur, 40, pioneer of the pack, Sulaiman Sani, 27, key suspect, Abubakar Ahmad, 30, Abubakar Adamu, 33, Yahaya Musa, 33, Kabiru Bala, 23, Rufai Tukur, 26 and Shehu Audi, 32.

The force Spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood, revealed this while tending to newsmen over the capture of the suspects on Tuesday in Abuja.

Moshood said that things recouped from them include: two AK 47 Rifles; three sets of suspected phony military outfits; cutlasses cruiser; four PDAs and a Shedda fabric having a place with a portion of the casualties.

He said that the suspects were in charge of the slaughtering of Prof. Mohammed Othman, Director, National Agricultural Research Extensions and Liaison Services, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

He said that they were additionally in charge of the Kidnap of Rahinatu Shehu, Aisha Sani and her seven-month old child at their living arrangement in Mararaba Guga town, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The power representative said that the capture took after the mandate of the I-G for a circumspect examination concerning the episodes and the capture of the culprits to convey them to equity.

He said that the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the power had connected with the suspects in a shootout for a few hours previously capturing them and protecting six casualties from them.

He said that all Police Mobile Force (PMF) Units in MOPOL 1 Kaduna, MOPOL 47 Zaria and MOPOL 61 Kafanchan on extraordinary obligations outside the state, had been requested by the I-G to come back to Kaduna State to amplify security, particularly on Kaduna-Abuja thruway and different flashpoints in the zone.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the I-G had requested extra organization of police work force to the Abuja-Kaduna and Kaduna-Kano thruways to reestablish security and regularity.
In a related improvement, Moshood said that commonality had been reestablished with the extra arrangement of staff after the July 24 assault on Kodi town in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara.
