Lagos State Govt To Close Third Mainland Bridge This Week

The Third Lagos-Mainland Bridge will be closed for four days in the current week, initiating from midnight of August 23 to midnight of August 26, for investigative upkeep test.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, unveiled that the state government will close the extension, in an announcement discharged on Sunday.

Akinsanya clarified that the choice was taken after the express government's expected discussion with the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing.

He said the four-day conclusion, will empower contractual workers evaluate the genuine condition of the scaffold, after which works would initiate before the year's over or mid 2019.

"The third Mainland Bridge which was opened around 30 years back by the then military government has had random upkeep and repairs in the past which the present Federal Government is resolved to revise via completing legitimate and nonstop support and repairs on it," Akinsanya said.
