"I Am in View of Running Against Buhari for President" - Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has conceded he is thinking about running against President Muhammadu Buhari in one year from now's general elections.

Saraki, who as of late abandoned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed this in a meeting with Bloomberg on Tuesday in Abuja.

Over the most recent multi week, the Senate President has visited ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and previous Military President, Ibrahim Babangida.

"I am counseling and currently thinking about it. I trust I can roll out the improvement.

"The PDP has learnt its exercise from the misfortune in 2015, and I think lamentably the APC did not gain from their triumph.

"While consulting with the PDP, we recorded various issues. We discussed how to manage and enhance the battle against defilement; the issue of giving more powers to the states; consideration and having a more nationalistic approach on things we do; to keep on improving the condition that will guarantee ventures.

"We recorded various things amid the talks with the PDP, and there is a composed consent to that. We assume that we can hold them to that.

"We would guarantee that the party is solid on security. The APC too have not done well on the issue of security. We have the open door with the correct sort of presidential applicant and president to give the authority to the party. The party has a decent chance to lead the nation the correct way," Saraki said.
