Bayelsa Politician Kidnapped By Unknown Gunmen

Gunmen suspected to be criminals have kidnapped an aspirant for Yenagoa Constituency 2 in Bayelsa State of Assembly.

Bibi Oweifa, who is likewise a grassroots youth mobilizer, was apparently seized on Friday around the Bayelsa State secretariat Annex One complex.

The kidnapping of Oweifa was said to have come hours before his proposed abandonment with many his supporters, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Reformed-All Progressives Congress (r-APC), in the state.

Bibi, an indigene of Bumoundi, in Ekpetiama faction, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, was purportedly seized around 3:30pm while turning out from the state secretariat close to the administration house. The shooters were said to have attacked the region in military uniform, laid attack and overwhelmed him when he turned out from an office and carried off him deserting his own collaborator.
