FG Approves New Minimum Wage Nominations For Nigerian Workers

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved designations into the advisory group for a new minimum wage by law for Nigerian laborers. 

Minister of Labor and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, revealed this in a meeting with State House reporters after a meeting with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. 

He said a board made up of delegates of the Federal and state governments, and in addition the private sector has been constituted. 

His words: "The old (the lowest pay permitted by law) law terminated a year ago August and we are presently during the time spent empaneling another national the lowest pay permitted by law board. 

"I have cleared the appointments with the President today (Thursday) and when the work individuals return from the Labor Governing Board meeting in Geneva, we will bring an agreement date with the governors since it is a tripartite panel including government, states and the private division: NECA, MAN, NACCIMA, SMEs. 

"The NLC, TUC and their offshoots have done their selections. What we are presently attempting to finetune is the date for inauguration."
