Father Sets His 15-Year-Old Son on Fire Over Quarrel With Elder Brother

Malam Musa Mohammed has been captured by the Rights Protection Agency in Niger for setting his 15-year old child, Bello Musa, on fire.

The Director-General of the organization, Mrs Mairam Kolo, uncovered this in a meeting on Tuesday in Minna.

As indicated by her, the occurrence happened around Polytechnic Road, Bida, in Bida Local Government Area of the state.

Kolo clarified that Musa tied the casualty up and siphoned petrol from his bike, poured it on the casualty and set him ablaze as a result of his asserted successive squabbles with his senior sibling.

As indicated by her, the snappy intercession of neighbors helped spare the casualty from being burnt to death.

"Amid scrutinizing, the father admitted that his activity was because of the conduct of the kid, that he is continually quarreling with his senior sibling and impolite to him.

"He said that he was worn out on the kid's awful conduct and had cautioned him a few times to quit battling his senior brother, yet he declined to hold fast to the warnings," she said.

Kolo said that the denounced would be charged to court under Section 25 of the Child Rights Law and segments 299 and 348 of the Panel Code Law.

She said that the casualty is getting treatment at Umaru Ndayako General Hospital, Bida.

Prior, the father confessed to have poured oil on his child and set him on fire.

He begged the office for mercy, saying he submitted the offense out of outrage.
