Ex-Governor Babangida Aliyu Arraigned For Money Laundering

Previous Niger State governor Babangida Aliyu was on Thursday summoned under the watchful eye of a Federal High Court in Minna on charge of money laundering. 

The ex govenor was summoned together with a previous Commissioner of Environment, Umar Nasko, on 8-check charge of criminal conspiracy and money laundering. 

The offenses are in opposition to segment 18(a) of the money laundering Act, 2011 as ammended and culpable under area 15(3) of same Act. 

The two are blamed for washing biological assets of over N1.940bn discharged by the Federal Government to the state in 2014. 

NAN reports that the case was exchanged from the Federal High Court Abuja to the Minna division at the example of the litigants.
