Couple CAught for Trying to Purchase Baby for N13,000 in Kano

The police have captured four people for paying N13,000 to purchase a five-month-old child. Showing up under the watchful eye of an officer's court in Kano on Friday, the suspects argued not guilty. 

Justice Aminu Fagge, who managed the case, allowed the four speculates bail. Fagge forced N300,000 bail condition on each of the four suspects. 

Among the suspects were Itohan Pius, 32, of ECWA Eye Hospital Kano; a couple from Rivers State, Sandra Bob-Manuel, 39;Charles Bob-Manuel, 42; and one Charles Akindoji, 30, from Kaduna State. 

The suspects are standing trial on a two checks of "criminal connivance and purchasing or offering minor for improper reason, which negate the arrangements of areas 97 and 278 of the penal code." 

The police prosecutor, Yusuf Sale, told the court that the speculates conferred the offense on October 10, in Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano. 

As indicated by Sale, the charged moved toward one Fatima Ahmad, mother of the infant, to purchase the tyke. 

"The presumes paid N13,000 out of the arranged N15,000 to purchase the kid however Fatima later detailed the issue to the police and we affected the capture of the suspects," he said. 

The case was dismissed to November 15.
