The police in Benin have captured seven individuals from the posse suspected to have killed a lecturer at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Paul Otasowie. 

The teacher was shot dead by shooters at his private habitation on 4 October, in Benin City, the Edo state capital. 

The new State Police Commissioner, Mr. Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, made the revelation Wednesday in Benin, while parading 53 suspects captured for different wrongdoings, among whom are criminals, robbers, cultists and car snatchers. 

He said the late Professor's cell phone was recouped from one of the suspects, including that relatives of the speaker have approached to recognize the telephone. 

He looked for the help of pertinent government offices and the legal in the battle against wrongdoing and conveyance of criminal equity organization.
