Angola Gets New President After 38 Years Of Reign by Former Leader

The rule of Jose Eduardo dos Santos finally ended on Thursday following 38 years of reign.The former President at long last reached an end when his hand-picked successor, Joao Lourenco, 63, was introduced as president at a function in Luanda. 

Lourenco read a pledge in which he promised "on my respect to give myself" to the part of president, as he took control after the decision MPLA party won a month ago's race. 

Dos Santos, who was at the function however is supposedly in weakness, astounded many by reporting his retirement prior this year, saying he would not be a hopeful in the race.
