Relatives Of Murdered Pregnant Woman Seeks Justice


The offenders in charge of the murder of a pregnant lady and mother of six, Mrs. Asabe Obaje at Odogomu, in the Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, will have equity served to them
according to the relatives of the deceased.

A representative for the family, Mr. Paul Obaje, said the lady was coming back from Odogomu to Ofano town at around 6pm on July 12 when she was waylaid and executed by presumed punks. 

He said the aggressors made use of machetes to hack the lady to death, including that one of her legs was cut off, while her throat was opening before she was dumped by the roadside in a pool of blood. 

Obaje stated, "The executing is brutal and barbaric. The lady was pregnant with twins, yet she passed on with the unborn children." 

He said following the episode, three speculates accepted to be culprits of the grievous demonstration were captured by the police and taken to the Okaba Police Post. 

He raised worries that the police in the region were taking care of the issue "with levity." 

"Our worry made us to go to the police to request equity for our part," Obaje included. 

He affirmed that following the interest for equity, the police struck their family house and captured some relatives, in particular: Ismaila Yakubu, Abdullahi Yakubu, Haliru Yakubu, Idris Usman and Yusuf Usman. 

He said the relatives were kept at the Ankpa Police Division for three days and discharged upon the installment of N30,000. 

Obaje, who discredited the improvement, approached the state Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, to guarantee that the guilty parties in the issue did not escape equity. 

Whenever reached, the Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr. Williams Aya, said the suspects had been exchanged to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Lokoja.
